A day out with your dog in … Dorset

Dog-friendly day out tips from EverMore pups and their adopters

Why is Dorset a great place to visit with dogs?

It’s a perfect mix of environments – forests, country parks and the seaside.

What places for walks or outdoor adventures would you recommend?

Dorset beaches where dogs are allowed year round include Eype Beach, Ringstead Beach, Durdle Door and Weymouth (Greenhill Groyne to Overcombe and Bowleaze Cove and dog exercise area). Dogs are also allowed on the South West Coast Path all year round.

For additional ideas – including exploring a village frozen in time, the ruins of a castle, and even a dog-friendly steam train ride through the countryside – see this great dog-friendly list.

Any favourite dog-friendly cafes, pubs or restaurants?

    • Moors Valley Country Park Seasons Cafe
    • Aunt Fannyโ€™s, Wimborne
    • Pamphill Farm Shop and Cafe

    What about dog-friendly accommodation?

A number of National Trust cottages are dog-friendly, and there are many camp sites, holiday parks, farm stays and hotels in the area too. Have a look at the ‘visit Dorset’ site for options in all price ranges.
