Why did you adopt a Romanian dog via EverMore?

A work colleague and I were chatting about pets; she told me she was adopting a dog and that there were lots of dogs needing forever homes and if I was interested to have a look … and the rest is history.

How has your dog settled into life in the UK?

When Nellie first arrived she was very quiet and nervous; she had a good sniff around the garden but all the time looking at us. She had such sad eyes, I felt quite emotional. She did eat a little but from my hand and then promptly fell asleep by my leg in the sunshine. It took a while for her to come into the house, she was very nervous and we had to carry her in – it seemed she was nervous of different types of flooring. It was a slow journey but the joy and happiness she brought to our home, there are no words on how much. Nellie came into my life at the right time and has helped me through some difficult times.

What would be your dog’s idea of a perfect day?

Nellie is never in a rush to get up. She lies on the bed until I have showered, then downstairs to Daddy to help him eat his biscuits. Then we go out for a walk in the woods, sniffing every blade of grass, rolling around in the grass, digging holes and chasing birds but not catching them. She has made a lot of doggie friends. Eating is unpredictable, Nellie will only eat when she wants to, she will graze throughout the day. She loves having cuddles and giving them, she is very contented and happy on her own in the garden or with company.
